Whoa! There's been a derailment on the approach to Moor Street Birmingham, on the viaduct by the Custard Factory. As you can see from these pics, a freight train has tipped over and smashed the wall of the viaduct right by the offices...
Arrived at work this morning to see the police tape and a pile of rubble, then I looked up...
Here's the view from one of the upstairs windows - yike!
The shiney metal pile of scrap in the bricks below is (or rather was) some poor soul's car (thankfully, no-one was injured - it was about 6 in the morning apparently). So, if you've ever heard the expression '(it) hit me like a ton of bricks' - that's what it looks like.
